By the start of the Fall 2025 Semester, UMKC will begin using virtual parking permits. This means that your license plate will be your parking permit, and you will not receive a hangtag permit, as in years past. This will also eliminate the need to print out a temporary parking permit while awaiting mail delivery. More information related to this transition will be sent out through the Summer, as we near implementation of this new program!

From this website you can order a UMKC STUDENT, UMKC EMPLOYEE, or UMKC CONTRACTOR parking permit, and pay or appeal a UMKC parking violation.

UMKC STUDENT Permitsfor the Summer 2025 Semester will be available to purchase beginning on May 12, 2025.

UMKC STUDENT Permit Specific Info:

  • Each UMKC STUDENT permit type is valid from the date of purchase, through the listed expiration date.
  • You may either pay for your permit with a credit card, or bill the cost of the permit to your Pathway Financial Account.
  • Parking permit orders billed to a Pathway Financial Account may be CANCELLED by UMKC Parking Operations for any of the following reasons:
    • Student is not enrolled in classes for the current semester.
    • Student has been denied charging privileges by the Cashier's Office (financial hold).
    • Student has charging privileges, but has unpaid parking fees. This may include any Parking permit cost or violation fees previously billed to the Pathway financial account that has not yet been paid to a zero balance at the Cashier's Office.
  • You will print out a temporary permit at the end of the order process. Allow up to two weeks for U.S. mail delivery of UMKC Student permit hangtags.

    General UMKC parking violation Info:
    • Appeals of parking violations must be received within two weeks from issue date of ticket.
    • A late fee of $5.00 will be applied to all UMKC Parking violations if not paid or appealed within thirteen (13) days from issue date of ticket.
    • Parking violations can only be paid through this site if they have not billed to a student or employee Pathway Financial Account (Status = Journalized). This also occurs after thirteen (13) days from issue date of ticket.
    • Payment can be made with MasterCard, Visa, Discover or American Express. Parking violations that have billed to a Pathway account must be paid through the Cashier's Office.

    UMKC CONTRACTOR Permit Specific Info:
    • First-time users, select "Non UMKC Log-in", then click "Register".
    • To order a permit, you will need to provide your name, address, phone number, and email address. You will also have to provide your correct license plate number and State, and vehicle information.
    • UMKC Contractor permits can be purchased for 1 week, 2 weeks, 3 weeks, or 1 month. The start date for the Contractor permit can be selected during the order process.
    • Single day permits may be purchased in person at the UMKC Parking Operations Office, during operating hours.
    • UMKC Contractor permits are valid only in the three UMKC Parking Structures, Cherry Street Parking Structure, Rockhill Parking Structure, and Hospital Hill Parking Structure.
    • You will need a printer, to print out your UMKC Contractor permit after completing the order process.
    • UMKC Contractor permits are not valid for use on UMKC Student or UMKC Employee vehicles.
